WhitChem Limited wins prestigious Responsible Care Award

WhitChem Limited has won the 2017 Chemical Business Association (CBA) Responsible Care Award, as well as the award for a distributor with operating sites.

The award ceremony took place at CBA's Annual Lunch on Wednesday 25th April at the Grosvenor House Hotel, park Lane, London, and was attended by over 1,100 representatives from across the chemical industry. The awards recognise companies that demonstrate a readiness to go beyond that which is required by basic compliance and health and safety regulations.

In their application for the award, WhitChem Limited outlined not only their commitment to Responsible Care from the highest level - their Committee is chaired by their Managing Director - but also their collective decision-making process, which encourages staff from across the company to become involved in their responsible care programme.

Neil Wootton accepted the award on behalf of WhitChem Limited in recognition of his particular contribution to their Responsible Care committee.

John McKeever, Operations Director for WhitChem Limited, stated that "receiving the award is not only thanks to the small group of dedicated and passionate members of our Responsible Care team, but also to the commitment and enthusiasm we receive from all our staff."

Responsible Care is a unique global initiative that is committed to improving health, safety and environment processes of participating companies across the chemical industry. The programme emphasises the importance of responsible management of technologies, processes and products and encourages members to report openly on their performance in this area.
